Jamison, Judith
(n. 10 may. 1943, Filadelfia, Pa., EE.UU.).

Bailarina y coreógrafa estadounidense. En 1965 se integró al American Dance Theatre de Alvin Ailey; se hizo famosa por su gracia enérgica y su presencia cautivadora en el escenario. Inspiró muchas de las danzas nuevas de Ailey, especialmente Cry (1971). Dejó la compañía en 1980 para ser estrella de un musical de Broadway llamado Sophisticated Ladies. En la década de 1980 realizó giras mundiales, compuso coreografías para diversas compañías y fundó su propia compañía, la Jamison Project (1988), pero después de la muerte de Ailey en 1989, regresó al American Dance Theatre como directora artística, siendo la primera mujer afroamericana en dirigir una gran compañía de danza moderna.
